The Global Platform for the Right to the City has a new logo, which shows the three interdependent pillars of the Right to the City: material, political and symbolic dimensions.
The idea was to update the logo to add the 3 dimensions of the Right to the City:
– spatially just resource distribution (material dimension)
– political agency (political dimension)
– socio-cultural diversity (symbolic dimension)
The logo tries to show that cities and human settlements are multifaceted entities which cannot be reduced to its material dimension (i.e. buildings, streets, infrastructures); they are actually made up by and result from ideas (political dimension), as well as social values (symbolic dimension). It also highlights people, because they must be in the centre of cities and human settlements.
We hope you like the change. What do you think?
