David Harvey, the author of various books and articles on the right to the city, will participate in a series of conferences in La Paz on August 19th, in El Alto on August 20th and in Cochabamba on August 21st.
Harvey is a British geographer and social theorist. Since 2001, he has been a professor of Anthropology and Geography at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) and visiting professor of the Ralph Miliband Programme at the London School of Economics.
He is one of the most cited academic geographers and the author of numerous articles and highly influential books on the development of modern geography. These are some of his works: Spaces of Hope (2003); The New Imperialism (2004); The Limits to Capital (2007); A Brief History of Neoliberalism (2007); Paris, Capital of Modernity (2008); The Enigma of Capital (2012); Rebel Cities: From the Right to City to the Urban Revolution (2013); and A Companion to Marx’s Capital .
