The Global Platform for the Right to the City (GPR2C) published the thematic Paper of the collective learning process: “Right to the City: a roadmap for Climate Justice” , written by Álvaro Puertas Robina, former Habitat International Coalition Secretary-General, and supported by the Reference Group.
The paper sheds light on the potential of the Right to the City as “one of the reference frameworks to guide equitable Climate Action”. It exposes some of the shortcomings of the global agendas (Paris Agreement, 2030 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda), but also points to possible entry points to more concretely embed human rights within these agendas. Include good practices and recommendations for local governments and civil society.
